WELCOME TO THE MUNICIPAL CLERK’S PAGE 

Per N.J.S.A. 40A:9-133.1, the Municipal Clerk is a statutory position.

The core duties of the Municipal Clerk are:

  • Secretary to the Municipal Corporation and Custodian of the Municipal Seal
  • Secretary to the Governing Body
  • Chief Administrative Officer of Elections held in the Municipality
  • Chief Registrar of Voters in the Municipality
  • Administrative Officer
  • Records Coordinator and Manager

In the Borough of Deal, the Municipal Clerk is also the Local Registrar in the Office of Vital Statistics. Please call or email with any questions, or to make an appointment for certified copies of your marriage, birth certificates and death records. Thank you.
